As with any injectable treatment, dermal filler injections can be slightly uncomfortable. However, a topical anaesthetic can be used in order to minimise any discomfort you may experience and with the use of cannulas being more widely preferred by aesthetic practitioners, discomfort is greatly reduced.
The treatment can take up to an hour depending on the number of areas to be treated and you will be advised on any aftercare that you will need to follow. However, you should be able to resume your daily activities afterwards with no medical downtime.
You may experience some swelling and a small amount of bruising after your dermal filler treatment but this should calm down fairly quickly.
The duration of results will vary, as some patients metabolise HA dermal fillers faster than others. It also depends on the area being treated and the products which are used, as to how long you can expect your results to last.
