What is Profhilo®?

Profhilo® is a hyaluronic acid skin remodelling and revitalising substance which is very different to Botox and those traditional dermal fillers, used for skin augmentation. Profhilo® takes around 10 minutes to administer, by a medical professional and the results can last up to 6 months. Profhilo® usually requires 2 to 3 treatment sessions, 4 weeks apart and is injected in to 5 specific points on the face. Profhilo® works by stimulating 4 different types of collagen and elastin within the skin tissues, as well as intensely hydrating the skin, due to the high quality HA within the product. The slow release of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring sugar within the skin, connective tissues and joints helps to improve the quality of the skin over time. This is because HA can hold up to 1000 times its own weight in water and therefore utilises the skin’s own moisture to heal and repair the skin.

Profhilo® is not a traditional dermal filler in that it will not physically ‘fill’ specific areas, such as deep crevices and wrinkles. It is not a muscle relaxant like Botox® and will not prevent the movement of facial muscles. Profhilo® delivers the overall effect of luminosity and hydration as well as a tightening, toning effect to the skin. Profhilo® can be used to complement other aesthetic treatments and significantly improves the quality of the skin, but gives a very natural-looking result.

Which areas can Profhilo® be used?

Profhilo® is most commonly administered to the upper and lower facial areas but it can also be very effective when used in areas such as the, neck, décolletage , hands, elbows and knees to help hydrate and smooth the skin.

When will I see results of my Profhilo® treatment at KL Cosmetic Clinics?

Your results should start to be seen in as little as 2 weeks after your first treatment with Profhilo®. However, for optimum results, you will need to discuss the course of treatment needed for your individual skin requirements, with your KL Cosmetic Clinics practitioner. You will most likely however, see optimum results after around 8 weeks of your initial treatment and then improvements after a third session, should you need it. The third treatment will most likely be administered at around 6 months after your initial Profhilo® treatment.

How long do results last?

Results from Profhilo® typically last around 6 months following your final treatment session. However, everyone is different and results will depend on whether you take care of your skin in the sun, eat a healthy diet, refrain from smoking and exercise excessively. All these factors can be detrimental to the skin, so it’s important to maintain a healthy lifestyle as well as having any non-surgical treatments for your skin.

Is Profhilo® safe?
