Facial beautification doesn’t have to solely apply to those who are experiencing the signs of ageing. Here at KL Cosmetic Clinics in Doncaster, we see many younger patients who are not happy with certain facial features.
The use of dermal fillers and Botox tends to be thought of as for those who are in their early to mid 40s onwards. However, we can utilise these injectable substances to enhance, soften and slim even a youthful face, for a more pleasing appearance and increased confidence and wellbeing.
Dermal fillers have been used for decades to enhance, volumize and lift the facial features. They are made from a substance called hyaluronic acid (HA) and you may have seen, HA has become hot news in the press, as it intensely hydrates the skin, both inside and out and is found naturally within the cells of the body, meaning that adverse reactions or side effects are extremely rare. HA can hold up to 1000 times its own weight in water and this ‘sponge’ effect plumps, hydrates and restores the skin.
Dermal fillers, when used in very small quantities for our younger patients, can soften facial contours, They can even re-shape the nose, chin, cheeks, lips, jawline and even the temples. So if you are not happy with the look of a particular feature, a treatment using dermal fillers can improve the concern, considerably, as well as compliment the rest of your facial structure. Dermal fillers are also administered in a non-surgical way (injections). Therefore, there is no significant cost, downtime or scarring when it comes to facial beautification using these substances.
The treatment can take as little as 10 minutes and you can go back to your normal daily activities (within reason) immediately after a treatment using dermal fillers. Some tenderness, bruising and swelling may appear, but this is normal and can be managed conservatively by using ice, arnica and avoiding hot saunas, steam rooms and baths for around 24 hours post-procedure. Any bruising can be covered with mineral makeup after around 6 hours post-procedure. A very different outcome to that of surgical procedures.

Much the same goes for the use of muscle-relaxing injections for the younger patient. Botox (the household name for Botulinum Toxin Type A) is a neurotoxin which has been used in medicine for many years. It was found to reduce the appearance of dynamic lines and wrinkles by accident when treating patients for migraines.
It also has a slimming effect when injected into specific areas of the face. Botox can be injected into the facial muscles, to slim the face for a more contoured appearance. When we are younger, we carry more tissues such as fat and muscle, and our skin is plumper (good news for resilience and smoothness, not so good if the face takes on a rounded appearance). Muscle-relaxing treatment will relax certain facial muscles to create a slimmer effect, giving a more sophisticated-looking facial physique.
Note – Botox for facial slimming or anti-wrinkle treatment is strictly available via prescription after a consultation with a medical professional.

The beauty of using injectable treatments such as Botox and dermal fillers is that they are all temporary procedures, lasting between 3 and 12 months. This means that as your face changes with age, our practitioners can work with you at each stage, to manage your expectations and offer you the natural, beautiful results that you require. Once the ageing process does start to take place, we can ‘tweak’ and alter each treatment, to compliment your facial structure and anatomy, with artistic precision and expert care.
The use of dermal fillers and Botox in a subtle and gentle way can enhance and improve a younger face without the risks associated with surgical procedures and in a way that will leave you with a natural-looking result for the most beautiful version of you.
