Chemical peels

Chemical peel treatments in Doncaster

Chemical peels are a safe and effective treatment for improving tired or blemished skin and breakouts. They can help to revive skin that has become dry and dull, maybe from long working days or a less-than-healthy diet. Other factors, such as air conditioning and too much sunlight, can also stop your skin from looking at its best.

If your skin needs a little rejuvenation, then a chemical peel could be a great place to start.

Chemical peel treatments at KL Cosmetic Clinics Doncaster

We have a wide range chemical skin peels available at our clinic in Doncaster. Each peel uses safe and effective ingredients to gently exfoliate and remove the top layer of skin.

The result is clearer skin, with a new lease of life!

Before each treatment, we carry out an assessment of your skin to find the most suitable peel for you. This allows us to tailor the treatment to suit your individual needs.

We also provide aftercare, so you can be confident you are receiving the very best treatment even after your time with us.

ZO Skin Health Peels

ZO Skin Health offers results-orientated therapies, using technologically-advanced ingredients, tailored for your skin’s specific needs. We use the ZO 3-Step Peel™ and the ZO Stimulator Peel at KL Cosmetic Clinics, and to maintain results, patients can use the medical-grade skincare at home.

Chemical peel treatments

Is it for me?

Think of a chemical peel as a deep exfoliation for your facial skin.

Not only will it remove the top layer of skin, it will allow the newer, fresher skin below to be seen.

Peels can treat dry, ageing and blemished skin including scars, pigmentation, fine lines and breakouts, and they leave your skin feeling soft and refreshed.

Frequently asked questions

What type of peel should I have?

The type of peel you need depends on the results you are hoping for and the issues you have with your skin. We can use peels of different depth and strength to get the desired results. We will fully assess our skin first, to help us choose the right peel for you.

The range of peels we use are: ZO Stimulastor Peel, ZO 3 step peel and BIOREPEEL

What happens during the treatment?

After the assessment, we cleanse your skin and then apply the selected peel. The peel remains in place for a specific amount of time, depending on the type and depth of the peel and the condition being treated. Generally, though, this is around 5 minutes.

While the peel is in place, you may experience sensations of warmth, tingling, and occasionally intense heat. Throughout this time, we check you are feeling comfortable and make sure the peel is working effectively.

At the end of the treatment, we neutralise and carefully remove the peel, then apply aftercare products to soothe and protect your skin.

What are the side effects?

After a peel, you will find that your skin is red and it might be a little tight or sore. You may also notice some peeling and flaking of skin, depending on the strength of the solution in the peel.

However, in a few days your new skin will come through and you will be looking luminous and glowing!

How do I care for my skin post-treatment?

If you are considering a superficial or deep peel, your skin will re-grow naturally and should heal fully. Which means it’s important that you don’t pick at any dead skin left after a peel.

As your new skin develops, a new band of collagen in the dermis will grow along with a thicker epidermis. Your skin will appear smoother and more perfect than it was before.

What else should I consider about chemical peels?

A peel is a fantastic way to achieve new glowing skin, but you do need to bear a few things in mind.

You should avoid the sun before and after your peel. We advise SPF 50 all year round, but especially for the first 4 weeks after a peel when the skin is more susceptible to damage.

If you’re going on holiday we recommend you have the treatment after and not before.

Some people are allergic to the products used, so some peels need a peel preparation.

Depending on your skin concerns, you may need a course of peels to achieve optimal results.

Are chemical peels suitable for all skin types?

In the assessment, we will categorise your skin on the Fitzpatrick scale. This is a professional gauge of the level of brown melanin in the skin. Most superficial peels, however, are suitable for all skin types.
