Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy in Doncaster

Platelet-rich plasma therapy

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy is a non-surgical treatment for a range of skin problems and concerns. It works with your body to naturally boost collagen, which is a vital ingredient in strong and healthy skin.

PRP adds volume, improving ageing skin by reducing lines and wrinkles, and tightening and toning loose or ‘crêpey’ skin. It also helps reduce blemishes such as scarring and redness, and revives tired-looking eyes by removing dark under-eye circles.

Often called the ‘Vampire Facelift’, PRP is an innovative facial rejuvenation treatment. It could be the perfect solution for your skin, as it allows us to target those areas in need of repair.

Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy at KL Cosmetic Clinics Doncaster

Here at KL Advanced Medical Cosmetics, we offer you personalised treatments that help restore your skin’s natural, youthful appearance.

Before we start any treatment, we will have a consultation meeting with you. This is to discuss the areas of concern and the treatment options available.

Platelet-rich plasma therapy is a simple and safe procedure that has few if any side effects. With minimal discomfort or downtime, you’ll be able to carry on with your day straight after the treatment session.

The procedure involves taking a small sample of blood from your arm. The sample is placed into a centrifuge to separate out the platelet-rich plasma. We then inject the PRP, which contains the essential growth factors, into the skin of the treatment area.

During your consultation we will explain the procedure in more detail and answer any questions you have.

Frequently asked questions

What happens during the treatment?

In PRP treatment, we take a small sample of blood from your arm and place this into a centrifuge.

The centrifuge separates out the platelet-rich plasma, which we add to a sterile syringe.

These platelets contain a high concentration of the proteins that are the building blocks of good skin.

We then inject the platelet-rich plasma into the areas of your skin that need the rejuvenation treatment.

When released back into your skin, these platelets stimulate the repair and healing of the surrounding tissue.

By stimulating the production of new collagen, they also help to increase volume in the skin.

How long does the treatment take?

The whole procedure takes about an hour.

Are there side effects?

There are few if any side effects with PRP treatment, as the procedure only uses blood taken from your body.

Afterwards, with no downtime to worry about, you can head home or to work and carry on with your day.

We will talk through issues around side effects, and aftercare advice, during your consultation.

When will I see the results from my PRP therapy treatment?

PRP therapy works by stimulating the body’s natural processes for regenerating new collagen and skin tissue,

This means that you won’t see results immediately - they will appear gradually over a period of about 6 weeks.

As with all treatments, the final results depend on a number of factors, including the skin condition at the start of the treatment programme.

How many treatments will I need?

We normally recommend a course of 3 PRP sessions, with a top-up treatment once a year to maintain the results.
