Vitamin B12 injections have become extremely popular in recent years. They are a quick and potent treatment to help a variety of health and wellbeing concerns and here at KL Cosmetic Clinic in Doncaster, we now offer vitamin B12 injections to help our patients to live fuller lives with better mental clarity and overall health.
Vitamin B12 is required by the human body to form red blood cells and DNA. It is a key component in the function and development of brain and nerve cells. B12 binds to the protein in the foods that we eat. In the stomach, hydrochloric acid and enzymes unbind the vitamin B12 so that it can be absorbed and utilised by the body.
If you are finding that you lack energy, that your mood is low and you do not sleep well, if you are struggling with physical energy levels, mental alertness and stamina for everyday tasks, you could be lacking in vital vitamin B12 levels.
Vitamin B12 injections can help with better short-term memory and even finding it easier to exercise and lose weight. You might find that you need to urinate less and you have an improved bladder continence. In general, vitamin B12 injections can offer you an all-round feeling of improved physical and mental wellness.
Before we can offer you this treatment, we will ask that you come to KL Cosmetic Clinic for an initial consultation and medical history check. We can then determine if vitamin B12 injections will be a safe and effective option for your concerns and requirements.
Initially, one injection intramuscularly (usually in the leg) per week on, or around the same day for 6 weeks will be required. After which, a maintenance session (1000 micrograms) fortnightly to monthly may be needed for optimum results. This is dependent on the improvements that you notice.
You should start to notice results within 24 to 48 hours of your vitamin B12 injection.
This really varies from patient to patient and here at KL Cosmetic Clinic, we will keep in touch with you on a regular basis, to assess how you’re feeling and whether a maintenance treatment is required after a given period of time.
Vitamin B12 supplementation is safe and without common side-effects.
For severe deficiency this treatment should be avoided and treatment via a GP/bloods is firstly recommended.
